About Me:

My name is Mark Sibug.

What do you do?
I earned my bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County UMBC in Geography and Environment Systems focusing on GIS (Geographical Information Systems) and Cartography. I received my master’s degree in Information Systems at UMBC. You can probably guess I work in I.T.

2007:  Summer Research Internship (REU) on the genetic structure (mtDNA cyt b gene and nuclear microsatellite loci) of the smallmouth bass at the University of Toledo.

2008: Programmer/Database Specialist at Center for Urban Environmental Research Education at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. It was an awesome job! I learned about the practical application of I.T., building computers from the ground up, networking and helping put together a visualization lab.

2011: Software Developer. I created applications, websites, web services, ETL, manage databases, O&M and automated a lot of the processes.
